GTA 6 has two main characters at the center of its story: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
They are not just two criminals who happen to meet.
Their lives become connected by crime, money, danger, and trust.
Rockstar Games has already shown several characters from the game. Some are close to Jason and Lucia. Others appear to be part of the criminal world they are entering.
The story takes place across Leonida, including the famous city of Vice City.
Here is everything we know about the GTA 6 characters so far.
Who Are the Main GTA 6 Characters?
The two main protagonists are:
- Jason Duval
- Lucia Caminos
Unlike GTA 5, GTA 6 focuses on a male and female pair.
Jason and Lucia are expected to share much of the story. Their relationship is one of the most important parts of the game.
Rockstar describes Jason as someone who wants a simple life. Lucia, on the other hand, is determined to change her situation and take control of her future.
Their goals are different.
But crime brings them together.
And that could become a serious problem.
Jason Duval
Jason Duval is one of the two main characters in GTA 6.
His past has already given us some clues about his personality.
Jason grew up around criminals and people who were always looking for an easy way to make money.
He later joined the Army.
It seems he wanted to leave his old life behind.
But things did not work out that way.
After his time in the Army, Jason ended up in the Leonida Keys. There, he started working with local drug runners.
So even though Jason wants an easier life, crime keeps pulling him back in.
Jason’s Personality
Jason appears to be calm and practical.
He does not seem as unpredictable as some older GTA characters.
He also appears to care about Lucia.
Several scenes show the two characters working together and protecting each other.
That relationship could become a major part of the story.
Jason also seems comfortable with guns, vehicles, and criminal jobs.
But there is still a lot we do not know about him.
Rockstar has kept many details about Jason’s past hidden.
That leaves plenty of room for surprises.
Lucia Caminos
Lucia Caminos is the second main character in GTA 6.
She is also the first female protagonist shown as a central playable character in a main GTA game.
Lucia has had a difficult life.
According to Rockstar, her father taught her how to fight from a very young age.
Her fight for her family eventually led to her being sent to the Leonida Penitentiary.
Now she is out of prison.
And she wants a better life.
Lucia is not waiting for luck to save her.
She wants to make her own future.
That mindset makes her very different from Jason.
Lucia’s Story
Lucia’s main goal appears to be building a better life for herself and her family.
Her mother has dreamed of a better life since their days in Liberty City.
Lucia now wants to turn that dream into reality.
But she chooses crime as the way forward.
That puts her in a dangerous position.
She also seems to understand that relationships can be useful.
Her connection with Jason may give her the chance she needs.
But it may also put both of them in more danger.
Jason and Lucia’s Relationship
Jason and Lucia are the heart of GTA 6.
Their relationship is one of the biggest reasons fans are excited about the game.
They are partners.
But it is not clear how much they can trust each other.
Both characters have their own past.
Both have their own goals.
And both are surrounded by criminals.
Rockstar’s official story description says that an easy score goes wrong and pushes Jason and Lucia into a criminal conspiracy across Leonida. They are then forced to rely on each other.
That sounds like the beginning of a much bigger problem.
Their relationship could also change during the story.
Will they stay together?
Will one betray the other?
Will they escape the criminal life?
We do not know yet.
And that is part of the fun.
Is GTA 6 Based on Bonnie and Clyde?
Many fans have compared Jason and Lucia to Bonnie and Clyde.
The comparison makes sense.
Bonnie and Clyde were a famous criminal couple from American history.
Jason and Lucia are also connected through crime.
But Rockstar has not officially said that GTA 6 is a direct story about Bonnie and Clyde.
So it is better to treat the comparison as a fan theory.
The game has its own characters and its own story.
Other GTA 6 Characters
Jason and Lucia are not alone.
Rockstar has also introduced several other characters who live and work around Leonida.
These characters give the world more personality.
They also appear to have their own goals.
Cal Hampton
Cal Hampton is a friend of Jason.
He is also connected to Brian Heder.
Cal is the kind of person who feels safer staying at home.
He spends time listening to Coast Guard communications and following strange things online.
His personality is very different from Jason’s.
Cal seems such as overly suspicious.
He also has a strange sense of humor.
His friendship with Jason could become important as the story moves forward.
Brian Heder
Brian Heder is an experienced drug runner in the Leonida Keys.
He has been involved in smuggling for many years.
Brian also owns a boat yard.
Jason is living at one of Brian’s properties.
In return, Jason helps Brian with local shakedowns.
This gives Jason a direct connection to the criminal world at the beginning of the game.
Brian looks like the type of character who knows how the criminal business works.
He may also introduce Jason to bigger opportunities.
Boobie Ike
Boobie Ike is a well-known figure in Vice City.
He has managed to turn his street experience into a legal business empire.
His businesses include real estate, a strip club, and a recording studio.
But his money still has connections to the criminal world.
Boobie also works with Dre’Quan Priest.
Together, they are trying to build a successful music business.
Rockstar describes Boobie as a local Vice City legend with a strong personality.
Dre’Quan Priest
Dre’Quan Priest is more interested in music than becoming a major gangster.
He started by dealing on the streets.
His real goal was always the music business.
Dre’Quan is connected to Only Raw Records.
He also works with Boobie Ike.
His biggest chance comes after signing the music group Real Dimez.
This gives GTA 6 another side of Vice City.
The city is not only about guns and robberies.
Music, fame, nightlife, and business also play a role.
Real Dimez
Real Dimez is a music duo made up of Bae-Luxe and Roxy.
The two women have been friends since high school.
They built an online following and turned their social media presence into a source of income.
They are now signed to Only Raw Records.
Their story shows another side of the GTA 6 world.
In Vice City, fame can be just as valuable as money.
And sometimes both come with trouble.
Rockstar says the duo hopes to repeat the success of an earlier hit.
Raul Bautista
Raul Bautista is an experienced bank robber.
He is confident, smart, and willing to take risks.
Raul is always looking for people who can handle dangerous jobs.
His approach to crime appears to be more professional than that of many other characters.
But his risky behavior can create serious problems.
His connection to the story could lead to some of GTA 6’s biggest heists.
Rockstar describes Raul as a seasoned bank robber who keeps looking for bigger opportunities.
Why GTA 6 Characters Matter
Characters have always been important in Grand Theft Auto.
Think about the different personalities in GTA 5.
Michael was a retired criminal.
Franklin wanted to move up in the world.
Trevor was completely unpredictable.
GTA 6 is taking a different approach.
Jason and Lucia are connected from the start.
Their story is built around their partnership.
That can make the story feel more personal.
Instead of following two separate paths, players may see how their decisions affect both characters.
Will Jason and Lucia Both Be Playable?
Yes.
Jason and Lucia are the two main protagonists of GTA 6.
The trailers and official material have shown both characters in major scenes.
Rockstar has also built the story around their partnership.
However, the exact details of character switching and how often players can control each character have not been fully explained.
So we should wait for more official gameplay information before making bigger claims.
Will GTA 6 Have More Characters?
Almost certainly.
Rockstar has already introduced several supporting characters.
The official GTA 6 character material includes people from different parts of Leonida.
We have criminals.
Business owners.
Musicians.
Friends.
Drug runners.
And people connected to the world of Vice City.
There may be many more characters that Rockstar has not shown yet.
Some could become important during the main story.
Others may simply help make the world feel alive.
GTA 6 Characters and the Story
The characters in GTA 6 appear to be closely connected.
Jason has links to the criminal world in the Keys.
Lucia has her own past and her own reasons for taking risks.
Other characters can connect them to different parts of Leonida.
This could create a much bigger criminal network.
An early job could lead to another contact.
That contact could lead to a bigger score.
And a bigger score could attract the attention of dangerous people.
This is where GTA stories usually become interesting.
One small decision can turn into a huge problem.
What We Still Don’t Know
Rockstar has shown a lot of GTA 6.
But many questions remain.
We still do not know every detail about Jason’s past.
We do not know exactly how Lucia’s story will develop.
We also do not know how their relationship will change during the game.
There are also many supporting characters we know very little about.
And Rockstar could still have major surprises waiting for players.
That is why it is better to separate confirmed information from rumors.
For now, Jason and Lucia are the only confirmed central protagonists.
The rest of their story will become clearer as Rockstar shares more.
Final Thoughts
The GTA 6 characters are already shaping up to be one of the strongest parts of the game.
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are at the center of everything.
Jason wants a simpler life.
Lucia wants to change her future.
Crime brings them together.
Their partnership could become their greatest strength.
It could also become their biggest weakness.
Around them is a large cast of characters from the criminal, music, and business worlds of Leonida.
That makes GTA 6 feel like more than a story about two criminals.
It looks like a story about people trying to survive in a world where everyone wants something.
And with GTA 6 currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, we will not have to wait forever to see how Jason and Lucia’s story unfolds.
